Ryan Dunn Of Jackass Killed In Car Accident

Ryan Dunn, a member of the gonzo stunt crew behind the Jackass movies and television series, was killed Monday morning in a one-car auto accident in suburban Philadelphia. He was 34. An as yet unidentified passenger in Dunn’s Porsche was also killed.

TMZ, which featured the first news of the fatal crash, posted a photograph showing the remnants of the mangled Porsche being towed away. The car appears to have left the road, hit a tree, and become engulfed in flames. Police told TMZ that “speed may have been a contributing factor to the accident,” and at least one other potential factor may be looked at, considering the photo Dunn tweeted Sunday night showing him drinking with friends.

Dunn was part of the original Jackass series on MTV, the spinoff show Viva La Bam, and appeared in the three Jackass movies. Most recently, he began hosting the show Proving Ground on G4. MTV reacted to the news of Dunn’s demise with a tweet: “We’re deeply saddened by the passing of a member of the MTV family, Ryan Dunn. Our hearts and thoughts are with his friends and family.”
